I have lived on my farm near Hill City since 1978, leaving in 1989 for Duluth to finish my Industrial Engineer coursework at UMD and moving back in 1995 to raise my family in rural Aitkin County.
I am a licensed residential building contractor. I own Elmo Crowe & Sons Inc. with my wife, Dawn, building homes and doing renovations in northern Aitkin and southern Itasca County. We have six children varying in ages from 26 years to 5 years old.
I am currently Clerk/Treasurer for Hill Lake Township and am also the 2006 President of the Northern Minnesota Builders Association.
My vision for the county is to have all residents treated fairly when they come in contact with county government at any level. I think taxes should be as reasonable as possible to maintain needed services. County employees should be well paid and high expectations of their performances should be met. It is my belief that county tax revenue growth generally should not be more than population and inflation increases dictate.
My aim as commissioner would be to make each decision using the best possible information to ensure the most beneficial result for the citizens. I hope to gain your trust in the coming days.
